New A 5-wire load cell is a type of force sensor that uses a Wheatstone bridge circuit and has five wires for its electrical connections: two excitation wires for power, two signal wires for the output, and a fifth shield wire or sense wire to improve accuracy. The fifth wire, which can be a sense wire or a shielded ground wire, helps maintain signal integrity and accuracy by compensating for voltage drops over long cable runs or shielding against electromagnetic interference (EMI).
