When using this microphone with a modern Amateur radio transceiver, this plastic connector has to be removed, and the colored wires soldered to a microphone connector. Amateur transceivers like Kenwood, Yaesu, Icom, and Tentec have the proper phantom B+ voltage on one of their Microphone front panel mic jacks to power this Astatic microphone. However, when doing this the T2M-931 mic cable yellow wire "Hangup Button" wire, MUST be connected to Chassis ground pin of transceiver for this microphone to work. The shield ground wire of this microphone is an AC audio ground only and is not the ground for the mic element & preamp stage negative voltage to work. The yellow Hangup Button wire MUST go to ground to get negative voltage for this microphone to work.
