VDS Stands for Video Door System. The VDS II Keypad" (SEC-55-2) was a telephone-style keypad with 41 switches, manufactured by Fermax for older Motorola DIMETRA Gate Automation Systems.
16 Key Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) is used for sending commands via telephone keypads, primarily for navigating automated systems like Interactive Voice Response (IVR) menus, checking voicemail, and entering account details; it also enables remote control, selective calling in radios, and secure payment processing by masking tones for sensitive data. Essentially, it translates button presses into specific tones that back-end systems interpret as instructions, from simple menu choices to complex remote commands. Commercial / Industrial Quality.
